DAEG FAERCH |
Destiny. What else could it be?Remember what it was like for YOU at as a little kid or even as adult – when you didn’t know EXACTLY what you wanted to do with your life? Daeg has never had that issue. Since before he was 4 years old, all of his instincts, coincidences and intellectual pursuits pointed in the same direction? When only his mom, from Day One, joyfully encouraged him to be the best he could be?Well Daeg’s passion has never swerved since a very early age. No… his friends and peers have never understood why DAEG FAERCH didn’t “fit in”. He didn’t fit in but he was close to all things performance and creative. Do you see how young people usually have no concept of what “Passion” is OR how it can propel one toward something in a manner that makes NOT doing that “Thing”, impossible?DAEG FAERCH has always understood that he is ‘different’ from the norm and even though it’s been uncomfortable – perhaps almost unbearable at times – he still “got” it, an inner wisdom and confidence – along with unwavering support from his mother. Had he not been – as it’s said in the South – born ‘old’, he probably would’ve been the same way… but destiny had plans that had to be dealt with and Daeg Fearch was ‘in’ on the deal.Daeg has been acting since he was old enough to say “pick ME!” when he didn’t know about money or fame but he was just passionate about something that he knew he couldn’t not do. Frequent replays of “Peter Pan” with Mary Martin, as yet still a toddler, re-emphasized his pursuit of the “Thing”… performance … because it was something that he had to do. After being in plays ranging from Shakespeare to hosting Vaudeville, as well as numerous independent films shot in the California and Arizona areas, Daeg, at the age of 8 (yes… EIGHT years-old!), wrote and directed his first 15 minute film short (“Duel”) – because it was in him to do so.Playing the young Michael Myers in the latest project in the “Halloween” feature film franchise has been almost surreal to this still very grounded youngster because he is finally “at home”. He’s now part of something that everyone else around him is interested in also and they all “get” and appreciate him for who he is – a kid that “Destiny” picked and prepared. On his breaks in-between shots Daeg reads the French comic books and plays with the other kids that are also on-set and even though other people sometimes treat him differently, Daeg has not changed one iota. He’s still a ‘normal’ kid that happens to have abnormal talent and passion. One minute he’s collaborating with director Rob Zombie about character back-story, the next he’s laughing giddily and quoting Shakespeare with fake blood dripping from his hands as he puts on a private show for his loving Mom and then it’s off to discuss why his favorite self-created super heroes are “the best” with anybody within earshot.Daeg also has aspirations of acting, writing and directing in ‘la Cinéma français’ in addition to conquering the North American cinematic frontier. He’s interested in other film genres but Comedy is his favorite. He is currently developing his 4th project – a feature about “bullies and heroes”—that is generating some interest around Los Angeles. All of which, at first glance, seems like a lot – for a person at ANY age. But that’s before you take “Passion” into account and before you realize DAEG FAERCH is personal friends with ‘Destiny’.
